Eric Schoones

Eric Schoones (1960) is a pianist and a musicologist based in the Netherlands. He has published extensively on music over the last 35 years and he is the editor-in-chief of PIANIST, a magazine published in Dutch and German, in seven countries in all. Since 2009 Eric also authored six books on sustainability, and he continues to be active with that topic.

Eric performs regularly as a pianist and lecturer (notably at the Miami International Piano Festival Academy) and his project Houdbare Noten (Sustainable Notes) is a lecture-recital together with vocalist Sofie Dhondt that explains the circular economy in musical terms. His latest recording of piano music by Erik Satie has been favourably received.
